Projectplace and Netviewer extend collaboration to a new level

Karlsruhe/Stockholm, 26.03.2008 -  Project management software provider Projectplace and Netviewer, Europe’s leading provider of web collaboration solutions, today announced an agreement to renew their partnership. Netviewer’s latest generation of VoIP and video enabled web collaboration tools will be seamlessly integrated with Projectplace’s service to extend the ability of project management teams to collaborate dynamically using desktop sharing, audio and face-to-face communications.

The new three-year agreement is one of the largest deals in Netviewer’s history and ensures that new and existing Projectplace customers, of whom there are currently 80,000 in projects active users worldwide, can continue to take advantage of Netviewer’s web collaboration tools as part of their subscription.
With VoIP and video support as standard features of the Netviewer web collaboration solutions, organisations can tap into the rich expertise of geographically-dispersed employees without needing to extend their deadlines – or their budget – to allow for travel or off-site meetings.

Together Projectplace and Netviewer have minimal system requirements and can accelerate projects by providing faster, more intuitive information sharing through making communication synchronous, rather than asynchronous like email, shared file access or other remote access technologies. Employees can invite one or more parties to ‘meet them’ online in an ad hoc or scheduled meeting by sending them a link – without needing to pre-install or pre-configure technology or programs.

Project management teams can use web collaboration tools throughout all phases of a project to collaborate quickly and cost effectively.

During the evaluation phase, Netviewer is used to review tender options and design choices, add comments and sketches to the shared document, and make quick decisions.

In the implementation phase, using Netviewer to discuss time lines, design modifications and review comments on one shared document, ensures consensus and reduces version control issues.
Once a project rolls out, the team can use Netviewer for group or one-on-one training to ensure smooth commissioning without the need for whole teams to travel.

“Many of the 2.000 new users that sign up to Projectplace each week want to take advantage of the solution’s integration with Netviewer live web conferencing technology”, said Pelle Hjortblad, CEO of Projectplace. “Our joint technology makes working in a dispersed team simple and more effective, and our clients do not need to switch applications or ask participants to install software, which makes ad hoc online meetings for fast decisions a practical proposition.”

“With project teams drawing on international expertise and often working remotely, collaboration tools are becoming increasingly important in today's workplace”, said Dr. Andreas Schweinbenz, CEO of Netviewer. “Netviewer’s flexibility enables our partners to build in the collaboration features that their customers need.”
